THE green MEETING.

May 2, 2008

I had a big meeting today with my boss. We talked about my “going green plan” and his valid concerns from the sales/marketing point of view.

The company is giving me even more support than I expected, allowing me to use 25% of my office-hours to this project, and and accepting to give 5% off all green sales to an NGO that fights hunger.

I’ve been working in this company for four weeks now, and I’m learnig new things everyday. I’m working with real entrepreneurs and it feels great to be in this enviroment

Thank you for the encouraging comments.

I hope you have a great weekend.

It’s really cool you’re trying to cause an impact from the inside, and it takes a lot of courage negotiating the support of a new employer.
Obviously, working in a really forward-looking company is a prerequisite!
From personal -but limited- experience I know that green suppliers and materials are almost always more expensive, so be sure to communicate this efforts to clients as that way they might be more willing to pay an extra cost.
Good luck in your efforts! It’s an inspiring example for others to follow.

  2. Daniel, congratulations on your meeting and for the support you have gained inside your company. I would be interested in hearing about how the efforts progress, and whether you can use the green initiative when talking about your company with customers and the general public.
